Director of Operations
Kerr Concentrates is hiring a Director of Operations to manage all activities related to operations at two facilities (Salem OR, Oxnard, CA) and manufacturing of existing and newly developed products along with procurement, maintenance and plant reliability within the annual budget by owning the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
The Operations Team is focused on delivering solutions that can help the Kerr facility produce first time quality fruit and vegetable ingredients in a safe and efficient manner.
As a Director of Operations, your responsibilities will include:
* Provide leadership and direction. Set and continually reinforce Kerr's company culture.
* Create a customer focused, high performance team and work environment that treats all customers (internal and external) as partners by building mutual relationships based on trust, capabilities, dependability, respect, honesty, fairness, integrity, and flexibility. Foster a work environment that is challenging, while remaining positive. Personal growth, recognition, and rewards will be provided for those who seek it and perform at a high level.
* Develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes to be best in class for recovery, quality, innovation, output, capacity utilization and costs.
* Develop and deliver on budgeted ME (manufacturing expenses) / unit in association with productivity and continuous improvement programs.
* Recovery and quality meets or exceeds standards with first time compliance >97%. Conversion costs meets or exceed budget. Actual departmental expenditures are under budget and customer survey results show improvement year to year.
* Capital projects completed on budget, on time and meet or exceed benefits provided in capital expenditure request process.
* Create short-term operational goals (quarterly and annual) and long term (>one year) strategic plans, and budgets, which assist the organization in achieving its corporate vision, mission, and goals which will maintain revenue and earnings growth. These goals and plans will incorporate the flexibility necessary to capitalize on changing market opportunities and will have continuous improvement at its core. Forecasts will be prepared to provide the necessary information to effectively run the business.

Qualified candidates will have:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field with a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience.
* Knowledge of common food processes and prior experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
* In depth knowledge and capabilities around automated systems and technical tools such as; SAP, Esker, Excel, Power Point and similar IT tools
* Knowledge of company and regulatory rules, policies and procedures in the areas of GMP, quality, and safety.
* Demonstrated experience working thru employee challenges and driving towards achievement of goals.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
* Having executive presence to be effective within the leadership role and within the office setting in Salem, as well as, corporate (Westchester, IL)
