At present, we have an excellent opportunity for a Field Application Engineer. This position can be located in Cambridge, MA. (or local to the Boston area on a remote basis). It can also reside in the Geneva, IL area.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for utilizing an advanced understanding of the customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment.
  • Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs. Understand customer needs and leverage Arrows engineering and design services resources to facilitate solutions for customers. Apply technical knowledge to influence designs utilizing solution selling, resources, and strategies.
  • Partner with the sales team across pre-and post-sales activities, providing technical support and consulting to promote demand creation. Technical calibrations & research with sales & other Arrow depts. & Suppliers in support of the customer design. Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions by obtaining buy-in and support from sales.
  • Attend supplier trainings in person and via conference calls.
  • Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships, keeping stakeholders up-to-date on activities, plans, and progressing towards initiatives. Identify key relationships amongst decision makers within suppliers and customers.
  • Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and QBR. Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions. Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives through branch training and customer calls. Organize engineering customer events.
  • This job profile requires the assignment and participation in a sales compensation plan. A portion of OTE will be variable and tied to specific sales-related goals as set forth by Arrow.

  • Product responsibilities:

  • Analog Devices (owner of the entire portfolio including power and non-RF stuff).
  • Frequency control suppliers.
  • System and Connectorized solutions from all suppliers.
  • Main tasks:

  • Define Strategy: Work with engineering to define and deploy corporate strategies in every region. Focus on the low performance regions and regions with the highest potential.
  • Define portfolio: Identify technology gaps and sign new vendors.
  • Raise Awareness: Train sales/engineering on technology, solutions and systems. Develop collateral and tools that allow for increased efficiency in the field. Organize technology symposiums to promote Richardson RFPD solutions, attend trade shows and supplier conferences.
  • Create solutions: identify focus vertical markets and key applications, develop system solutions including hardware, software, selling tools and collateral.
  • Customer support: Customer interaction, regular visits
  • Deliver Supplier Value: Collaborate with the other Directors of Marketing (RF Power, Small Signal, IoT) to ensure the success of the program. Ensure all KPIs are being met.

    Product responsibilities:

  • Experience / Education
    Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 8 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent related experience.
